Countries Covered By My Dog Travel Blog

Travel guides about various countries we have enjoyed visiting with Henry, our dog.

Austria

Dog at Hofburg Palace in Vienna

Austria is a fascinating country, especially its capital, Vienna, which has many beautiful palaces, churches, excellent food, good music and other sights.

Bulgaria

Amphitheatre in Plovdiv at Sunset

We really enjoyed spending time in Bulgaria and experiencing its cuisine. Sofia, its capital, was interesting; Varna, by the sea, and Plovdiv, an ancient city, were too.

Croatia

Veli Losinj Harbour

Croatia is a beautiful country with excellent food, including seafood. The capital, Zagreb, is nice, as is the 2nd city, Split. The Croatian islands are lovely for a seaside holiday.

Czech Republic

Old Town Square in Prague

The Czech Republic is a fascinating country with excellent beer. The capital, Prague, has many interesting sights. Český Krumlov in Bohemia is also a top destination.

France

Rouen in France

France has lots of sights and excellent food. We really enjoyed the old town of Rouen and the towns of Alsace, including the fairytale-like Colmar.

Germany

Nuremberg Castle

Germany is a country I enjoyed visiting, drinking German beer and blogging about. We spent time in Munich, Dresden and Nuremberg, which were great.

Hungary

Fisherman's Bastion Budapest

Hungary is a country I feature often on my travel blog. The capital, Budapest, is beautiful. Beyond the capital are some laid-back towns.

Italy

Colosseum in Rome

Italy has many fantastic cities, including the capital, Rome. Bologna, Ferrara, Siena and Trieste were also fantastic places to spend time.

Netherlands

Binnenhof in The Hague

The Netherlands is a pleasant country and, as a bonus, has dog-friendly ferries from the UK. We visited Maastricht and The Hague.

Romania

Big Square With Dog in Sibiu

My new home country, Romania, has many travel blog posts. This includes the capital, Bucharest, and Transylvania.

Slovakia

Bratislava Castle

Slovakia is a country I enjoy visiting, especially the capital, Bratislava. The food and beer are good in Slovakia, and it’s a great value place.

Slovenia

Dog Walk in Vintgar Gorge

Slovenia is a picturesque country with beautiful cities like Ljubljana and epic countryside. Lake Bled is wonderful for dog walks.

UK

Tower Bridge London

An extensive section of my travel blog, including my former homes in London, Gloucestershire and the West Midlands. I cover a range of topics, including dog-friendly guides.

  1. Cute pooch! What a cool-looking blog and life of travel, too. Traveling with your best furry friend is a wonderful way to experience the world. We do it a bit differently as my wife and I house sit all over the globe. We care for different pets abroad and at home in the US, too. Keep up the good blogging work.

  2. Hiya,
I’ve been following your posts for a good while now over on Twitter but haven’t really looked at your blog until today – via your Foggia post for Italy.

You’re probably aware we’re heading to Italy via Nice later this year so I read a few of your Italy posts there, before taking a peep at your Home page.

I love the layout of your website! I used to use WordPress when we lived in Cyprus but changed some of the content as it didn’t really ‘fit’ with the new life back in UK and I never got to grips with the new block layout. I was so used to just typing in and editing as I rolled…

So I’ve sort of lost my blogging mojo.

But, you’ve given me the inspiration with your simple style and large images. Meanwhile, my posts are currently on Tumblr but they like single photos there and really the folks don’t want to read, just look at pictures…

I daren’t even look at your Croatia posts yet – because we do really want to visit there. We hoped to tie it in with the Nice, Italy and head there via Ancona to Split – but flights back to UK were all at rubbish times of the day and only via Manchester, which meant very expensive overnight accommodation.
So, we cut it back to keep it within a time period that means we don’t leave Mum on her own for too long as we have to rely on friends who take her shopping when we’re not there.

Hopefully, our next visit – unless Italy grabs us as much as we think it may do…

  3. I can’t believe I am just now finding your blog, but thank you! It came up in a Gemini search of things to do with my Cavalier, Dazzle, in Munich. Your Henry is very handsome. We are flying to Munich on our way to a river cruise for dogs with 1AVista Reisen, starting in Passau and going through Austria to Slovakia and back. We live in Europe, love to travel, and your posts will be very useful for our future travels!
