Self-Service Laundrettes in Prague, Laundry Czech Republic

As a long-term traveller, the laundrette is a frequent haunt of mine, including on our trips to Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. I tend to visit the self-service launderette weekly when slow travelling unless we have a washing machine in our accommodation.

Prague has a few good options for laundrettes in the central area. We also found that a few hostels we stayed in had small machines for one-person loads. We tried these once, and they were not as good or quick as a dedicated self-service launderette. However, if we had had a small load, it would have been fine.

Anyhow, I enjoy the laundry run, especially if there is a pub nearby to use as a waiting room.

Self-Service Laundrettes in Prague

These are self-service laundromats I’ve used while staying in Prague. There are other options available throughout the suburbs.

Samoobslužná prádelna Miele Laundry vyperTADY

My favourite laundrette in Prague is in the Jewish quarter, Samoobslužná prádelna Miele Laundry, vyperTADY. The entrance is visible from the picturesque Spanish Synagogue.

The laundry is simple to use and fully computerised. The instructions are in various languages, including Czech, German, English and Spanish. There are some comfortable seats to wait for your washing.

Alternatively, there is a lovely dog-friendly cafe at the end of the road. Personally, I opted for beers at the cafe, with my phone alarm set for when the load needed to be put in the dryer. You can find out more about the laundry service on their website.

VyperTADY

A self-service laundrette on the edge of Old Town near the Franz Kafka mechanical head is vyperTADY. It’s a functional laundry with washers and dryers. They also have a change machine and somewhere to sit. I found this place was really slow at drying; however, they may have fixed that now.

To wash clothes, you need to bring your own washing powder or purchase some from their vending machine. VyperTADY has plenty of instructions in English and Czech to help you on the way.
