Après-ski Poiana Brașov: Bars & Restaurants
There are many options for bars and restaurants in Poiana Brașov, including some pleasant restaurants and bars near the mountaintop. It’s a lovely ski resort to visit in both winter and the warmer months, and the table options here reflect the seasons.

Most places are geared towards winter sports with cosy interiors; however, quite a few have outdoor seating. My top picks are Restaurant Şura Dacilor for local Transylvanian food and Yager Chalet for drinks with an epic mountain view. The nearby city of Brașov also has some fantastic places to dine out.
Bars & Restaurants in Poiana Brașov
I’ve visited the ski resort of Poiana Brașov many times and thus have enjoyed many meals and drinks out.
Restaurant Șura Dacilor

One of my favourite meals out when visiting the mountains here was at Restaurant Şura Dacilor. Restaurant Șura Dacilor is a traditional restaurant with a Transylvanian-themed garden for outside dining. They also have indoor seating, which is perfect for the cold winter weather.

They have a good range of drinks, including Romanian and popular European beers. Restaurant Șura Dacilor also offers a great wine menu and a variety of soft drink options.

Their food menu features lots of game, including venison and bear steaks. They also have most of the Transylvanian favourites. On my visit, I had the smoked pork knuckle with beans, and it was hearty and tasty.
Yager Chalet Restaurant & Hotel

The nicest mountaintop après-ski spot is Yager Chalet. Yager Chalet is at the top of the Postavarul Express gondola and a great place for a drink or a meal out. This is a great starting spot for a hike in the mountains or a break from skiing.

They have an inside bar and a lovely terrace with mountain views. They serve some interesting local cuisine and have a comprehensive bar. The terrace is a fantastic place to enjoy a beer or two.

The mountain views are well worth the gondola ride up. You could also opt to stay at Yager Chalet for the duration of your Romana Ski holiday or for a romantic break.
Dude’s Pub

One such venue is Dudes Pub, which is at the top of the cable car route, a great place to enjoy a beer and admire the views. They serve a good range of beers, including Ciuc, a Romanian lager beer.

From Dudes Pub, you can take a walk to the mountain peak, which has some splendid views. Sadly. Dudes Pub only accepts payment by cash for drinks and snacks.
Restaurant Veranda
Another great place to enjoy après-ski or a meal out is at Restaurant Veranda. Restaurant Veranda has both inside seating and a fantastic terrace with picturesque views. It’s an excellent place for a meal or drinks at any time of the year, including peak season in the winter.

Their beer menu includes local beers and some of the famous European brands. The Restaurant Veranda’s food menu offers many pleasant options, including many local dishes from Romania. They serve a delicious tripe soup, which is very warming after a wintry day in the mountains. Other dishes to try include the local delicacy mici or some pork steaks.
Ruia Hotel Resort & Restaurant

Ruia is a nice hotel with a great bar with indoor and outdoor seating. They provided excellent service, and the staff were friendly. This is a great place with fantastic views of the mountains, particularly nice in the summer. I award a bonus point, as they have options for Ursus, a fantastic local beer, on their menu.
Capra Neagră Rustic

In the action’s heart is a pleasant bar called Capra Neagră Rustic, which is great for some après-ski. They are a great place for a beer, and the bar is a handy spot for the bus into Brașov. Local beers on the menu include Cuic and Silva; however, they also have continental options.

They have stools at the bar, which is a pleasant touch, or you could sit at one of their comfy tables. The Capra Neagră Rustic menu includes local dishes and a range of steak options.
