Tried & Tested Cafes, Bars, Gelaterias & Restaurants in Rimini

We stayed in Rimini for five nights and enjoyed a good selection of bars, restaurants and Gelaterias. This included many beach bars, places near the seafront, and spots in the old town. This included famous places like the Rose and Crown pub, Italy’s oldest English pub.

Many of the city’s beaches had bars, which was handy for when booking a parasol for the day. Rimini also has lots of fast-food places, including pizzerias and places for the local speciality piadina. My guide features places we visited for food and drink out between sightseeing and beach fun.

Tried and Tested Restaurants & Pizza Places Rimini

Rose & Crown Pub

On the strip near the beaches is the Rose & Crown pub, which is the oldest English pub in Italy. We visited on our first night for drinks and food in their dog-friendly beer garden. They had a good selection of drinks, and we enjoyed some nice German beers.

Rose & Crown pub

For a treat, I enjoyed their house burger, loaded with bacon, cheese, salad, and sauces. This tasted delicious and was a great welcome to the seaside. My wife had their half roast chicken with fries; Henry was very happy about it.

Bar Charlie Brown

For a seafood meal out, we went to Bar Charlie Brown on the strip near the sea. Bar Charlie Brown had outdoor seating and indoor dining too. They had a modern menu and a large range of drinks. To start, we had fantastic seafood appetisers, including different types of prawns and an octopus salad.

Bar Charlie Brown Frito Misto

For the main course, I had frito misto and fries, which was a good-sized portion and tasted good. This includes deep-fried prawns and calamari. We visited for food around 6 pm; however, when we passed later in the evening, there was a queue.

Panzerotto A’ Mare

Panzerotto A’ Mare was a nice place near our hotel for a sit-down pizza and a beer. They have a covered outdoor seating area where you can eat; however, most of their customers seemed to be there for takeaway.

Panzerotto A' Mare Sausage Pizza

Their speciality is panzeretto, but they also have a comprehensive pizza menu. I chose their sausage pizza, which was delicious and filling, with a great base.

Cafes and Bars For Coffee and Beer

Tazza d’Oro

Tazza d'Oro

Tazza d’Oro is in Rimini’s historic centre, near the Malatestiano Temple. I visited here while doing the laundry next door. It was a nice cafe that served the full set of Italian coffees, and beers or wine. They also served sandwiches and pastries and seemed very popular with the locals. I enjoyed beer and water here on their outside seating area.

Cucina e Beach Bar Doris

Cucina e Beach Bar Doris

At our local beach, we hired a parasol, and their refreshment option was Cucina e Beach Bar Doris. This was a nice place with a good selection of Italian beers and other drinks. They had outdoor seating with sea views. I enjoyed sitting here and watching the world go by. In addition to drinks at the bar, they also have a restaurant serving pizza, seafood, and more.

Caffè Nazionale

For a quick drink while sightseeing in old town, we popped into Caffè Nazionale for a coffee and beer. It felt like a small local’s place where lots of people knew each other. We sat outside and got views of the architecture of Corso d’Augusto, the road that connects Ponte di Tiberio and Arco di Augusto.

Bar Piadineria Blumen

Bar Piadineria Blumen Rimini

My go-to bar for a quick beer, usually on the way to the supermarket, was Bar Piadineria Blumen. It has a nice outdoor seating area and is quiet. Bar Piadineria Blumen also serves food, including piadiana and snacks, with beers.

Gelaterias for Excellent Gelato

Pellicano Mare – Gelateria Artigianale

Gelato

We were lucky on the gelato front, as Pellicano Mare – Gelateria Artigianale was the best we’ve ever tried in Italy. It’s a small place with a few seats, and they even let Henry inside. They had a good selection of flavours, my favourites being the dark chocolate and pistachio. My wife really liked the fruity flavours, especially the strawberry ones. We visited here three times after discovering how delicious it was.

Gelateria Pellicano Vespucci Rimini

Near the Conad supermarket and Rose & Crown was Gelateria Pellicano Vespucci Rimini. This was another nice place for gelato, with a wide range of flavours. We tried their pistachio, toffee and vanilla gelato here, and it tasted good.
