This is a guide to choosing which banks to use to get free ATM cash withdrawals in Slovakia & Bratislava with a Revolut account. Sometimes it’s not possible in certain places. So I’m including details on cash withdrawal fees for ATMs across the country.

Free ATMs Slovakia

Overall, there are options for free ATM withdrawals on my visits to Slovakia. I’ve used free ATMs in the capital, Bratislava, and on day trips to Komarno.

Tip – Sometimes it costs more to travel to a free ATM for a cash withdrawal; thus, it’s a false economy to seek them out.

Is Cash Important in Slovakia?

Cash is essential in some places in Slovakia. Many bars, restaurants, markets, and shops only accept cash payments in euros, so having some is pretty important. Also, if travelling by train, the drink trolley seems to only accept cash.

Free ATMs in Slovakia And Other Fees

These are ATMs I’ve used in Slovakia, including in Bratislava, that the bank hasn’t charged me for using. During my visits, I have tried other cash machines; however, these had a fee, so I aborted the transaction.

UniCredit Bank

UniCredit Bank

A bank that didn’t charge me for cash withdrawals in Bratislava and Komarno was the UniCredit Bank. Thus, I used them on various occasions. UniCredit Bank seems to have quite a few ATMs, and they are easy to find. They have a webpage to help you find the closest to you anywhere in Slovakia. Overall, a straightforward process.

Poštová banka in Bratislava

Free ATM Bratislava

Another ATM I used that didn’t charge me a fee for withdrawals was Poštová banka. They have a few locations in Bratislava, including one at Námestie SNP. Poštová banka ATMs are best found using Google Maps, as they don’t have a locations page. They seem to have branches across the country.
