Ogulin Restaurants, Bars, and Cafes For Good Food & Drink
Ogulin offers plenty of places to dine out or enjoy a drink, including excellent restaurants and bars. We enjoyed our week in town and found most people very accommodating.

We enjoyed plenty of delicious Croatian food and beer and embraced the town’s laid-back vibe. Ogulin in Croatia was a place for us to relax and get out in nature. The cafes and places to eat out certainly added to our visit. As a bonus, most establishments were dog-friendly and welcomed Henry, some even offering a bowl of water.
Bars, Cafes & Restaurants in Ogulin
Some of the places we enjoyed dining out or having daytime drinks when visiting Ogulin. Most of these are cheaper than the popular tourist destinations in Croatia.
Pizzeria Bonino
Our host for the week recommended Pizzeria Bonino, and it delivered. They have a fantastic menu with plenty of pizza and grilled options. Some of their menu items are huge, including a 1-metre pizza and a 1-metre platter of grilled food. These apparently serve 8-10 people, so they are great for parties or family gatherings.

Pizzeria Bonino gave me a new opportunity to try a different Croatian beer, Velebitsko. Velebitsko was a delicious drink, more like a pale ale than a lager, with a good flavour without being hoppy. Velebitsko is a beer brand from near Gospić in the Velebit mountains that brews both a pale and dark beer.
For food at Pizzeria Bonino, I enjoyed a mixed grill for one, which was served in a bun with chutney and red onions. This was a delicious, very filling feast.
Rooms And Restaurant at Jezero Sabljaci
Rooms And Restaurant Ive is next to Jezero Sabljaci, a large lake that’s excellent for swimming or hiking around. They are a hotel and a restaurant that serve fantastic food at good value.

For food, we enjoyed their beef soup as the starter, which was delicious. For the main course, we chose the mixed grill. They loaded this with meats, including chicken, pork and ham. They served it with fries, a sour salad and some lovely sauce.
Štross Street Food
Our host recommended Štross Street Food in the centre of town. Štross Street Food certainly delivered and was an excellent place to dine out. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, so we chose the covered outdoor option. They had all the usual suspects in Croatian beer.

Their food menu was comprehensive; however, I opted for a Balkan burger, which was delicious and gigantic. From what I saw, the sharing platters were huge and looked tempting. Overall, Štross Street Food is a great place to dine out or have a drink. Note: They only accept cash payments.
Dreams Rock Caffe

One of the coolest bars locally is Dreams Rock Caffe. Dreams Rock Caffe is a unique venue with interesting decor that sticks to the rock theme. They serve coffee, beer and other drinks and are open most of the day. They also offer entertainment, including a pool and darts.

Dreams Rock Caffe also has a terrace with a view into the gorge, which is a fantastic sight to enjoy or photograph. The combination of views and quirkiness makes Dreams a must-visit bar if in the area.
Caffe Bar JAZZbina

If you are looking for a cool all-day bar that stays open late, then Caffe Bar JAZZbina might be for you. Caffe Bar JAZZbina is slightly out of town; however, it is near some of the holiday homes in Ogulin. They serve fantastic coffee, Croatian beer and some fantastic wines. Caffe Bar JAZZbina has a great indoor seating area and a terrace for outdoor seating.
Caffe Club, Nazorova 5

One of the nicest bars with a terrace in the town is Caffe Club Nazorova 5. Caffe Club Nazorova 5 is a lovely place with some very comfortable outside seating. The outdoor seating overlooks the gorge and is a great spot for photos of the scenery.

They serve a great selection of coffee, wine and beer to enjoy throughout the day. Caffe Club Nazorova 5 is a table-service place, thus very relaxing when paired with a sofa chair in the shade. Caffe Club Nazorova 5 is also dog-friendly, and they provide water for canine guests.
Caffe Bar Matan

Another place I enjoyed coffee and beer was Caffe Bar Matan. They had a wonderful selection of drinks, including local beers. Caffe Bar Matan has both inside and outdoor seating and has a traditional pub vibe. Inside, cool memorabilia from Croatian breweries lined the walls.
Café Bar Bonaca

Cafe Bar Bonaca has a lovely outside terrace and a glass-covered indoor area. They have a comprehensive drinks menu, including local beer, lemonade and coffee. We really enjoyed popping in here for refreshments.
